Hillel Waterloo has been in conversation with the Federation of Students at the University of Waterloo about the unfortunate scheduling of Clubs & Societies Days during Rosh Hashanah. We expressed our concern that Jewish students will not have the opportunity to learn about the ways in which they can get involved in other clubs on campus due to this scheduling issue. We acknowledge that the Federation of Students has taken this issue seriously, and is taking steps to mitigate the impact of this scheduling conflict. This includes granting Hillel Waterloo exclusive tabling space in the SLC in the days leading up to Rosh Hashanah. We hope to see all interested students at our booth on those days. As well, the University of Waterloo will be posting a comprehensive list of clubs and societies on the Feds Clubs Facebook page, in addition to the listings on the Feds website. Hillel Waterloo encourages all students to take advantage of this listing to find ways of getting involved in campus life.
Hillel Waterloo believes that every Jewish student should have every chance to be involved in campus life. We encourage all new Jewish students in Waterloo to meet us in the SLC from Monday, September 18 through Wednesday, September 20, and find out how you can be further involved. If you have questions, or if you are looking for accommodations for the High Holidays in Waterloo, please contact Max Marmer, Director of Hillel Waterloo, at email@example.com.
