ABOUT OUR HILLEL
Hillel is the center for Jewish life at Toronto Metropolitan University. A pluralistic and dynamic organization that empowers students to curate Jewish life on campus, Hillel has a goal of enriching your Jewish life and leadership experience while at university. With a focus on education, social action, wellness, arts and culture, Israel, leadership development and networking events, Hillel Ryerson has something for everyone. Some of our programs include:
- Weekly FREE Kosher Lunches in the Loft
- 10 week paid Jewish Learning Fellowship
- Holocaust Education Week in partnership with the RSU
- Multi-Faith Shabbat Dinner in partnership with Ryerson University’s President’s Office
- DIY Shabbat Dinner Grants

JLIC
Hillel is fortunate to partner with the Orthodox Union/Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus (OU/JLIC). JLIC strives to engage and educate students from varied backgrounds by providing avenues for spiritual development and exploration. By placing talented educators on campus, JLIC inspires young adults to take ownership and responsibility for their Jewish lives and communities.
JLIC provides classes on a wide variety of topics, hosts social events throughout the year, and has a weekly minyan at the BAYT.

Jewski
Jewski is the group for Russian-speaking Jewish students on campus. It is designed to connect Russian speaking students to each other as well as to the greater Jewish community on campus. Programs range from paid internships, social and cultural programming, “Novyy god” and holiday celebrations as well as an opportunity to participate in our elite J.LEAD Training Program. Once a Jewski, always a Jewski!
