Enriching the lives of Guelph’s Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish community, Israel and the world.
ABOUT GUELPH HILLEL
Welcome to Guelph Hillel, your Jewish home away from home! Here at Guelph Hillel, we strive to create a welcoming and open community for all students. We want to help you find a way to ensure that Jewish life is central to your university experience by offering you a variety of ways to get involved! Whether it is joining our leadership council or joining our intramural team “The Matza Ballers”, or anything in between, there is so much for you to discover!
We have monthly Shabbat dinners, weekly bagel lunches, programming dedicated to first years, a sukkah at our Hillel house, discussion groups relating to current events, movie nights, holiday themed programs, and so much more!
Chicken Soup Hotline
Feel sick and feeling far away from home? We’re here to take care of you! Just send a message to our Chicken Soup Hotline and a serving of chicken soup will be delivered to you!
Big Fish/Little Fish
Are you a first year student? We know how intimidating it is to come to a new place with new people, new classes and coming to an event can seem overwhelming. Our Big Fish/Little Fish program will match up interested first year students with older students in same (or similar) programs of study so that they can help with class scheduling and choices, study tips and answer questions, serve as a “big brother/sister” on campus and help get rid of some that first year stress. Email Gila to get connected!
Jewski is the group for Russian-speaking Jewish students on campus. It is designed to connect Russian speaking students to each other as well as to the greater Jewish community on campus. Programs range from paid internships, social and cultural programming, “Novyy god” and holiday celebrations as well as an opportunity to participate in our elite J.LEAD Training Program. Once a Jewski, always a Jewski!
For more information about Jewski, please contact Tamar Cherkasov at firstname.lastname@example.org
