This Holocaust Education Week, McMaster Hillel hosted several events to engage and educate both the Jewish and greater McMaster community on the Holocaust. On Monday and Wednesday, we held our first-ever exhibit in the student centre. This exhibit showcased pieces from Yad Vashem, which focused on how Holocaust survivors reacted to liberation through art. On the Wednesday, we we lucky enough to hear a Holocaust survivor, Faigie Libman, share her story with us. Everyone who attended were inspired by her strength and positive outlook on life. We concluded the week with an Israel-themed Shabbat dinner, which was a meaningful way to wrap-up a week full of education and remembrance.
