Antisemitic Graffiti at Queen’s University

As many of you know, antisemitic and racist graffiti was found on campus, and at St. Lawrence College last week. Upon learning of this, Ashira Prizant, your Queen’s Hillel Director, reported the incident to campus security who informed Kingston Police and arranged for swift removal of the graffiti. Hillel staff met with many of you and  informed our students of this event and of various counselling services available on campus.

It should go without saying that antisemitism, and any other form of discrimination, has no place on campus. These grotesque, hate-driven messages will not deter our Hillel from providing extensive Jewish and Zionist programming on campus, and supporting Jewish students in initiatives they wish to pursue. At Queen’s Hillel, we remain committed to ensuring that Jewish students at Queen’s enjoy a vibrant and safe campus experience supported by our trained campus professionals and community stakeholders. Thank you to the students who reached out and alerted our staff when they encountered this on campus, we were able to address the matter swiftly. We strongly encourage our students to please reach out to Ashira or Jemma if they see or experience anything concerning on campus. We are here for you!
