I’ve always had a hard time making decisions about my future. In university, I changed my major about three times. I thought about pursuing five very different careers, but the one thing that never changed for me was Hillel.
Hillel provided me with a place to meet so many amazing people and have leadership roles that I never thought I would have in my university career. When it was time for me to leave university and go into the “real world” I knew I wanted to continue to give back to the community that gave so much to me and the Springboard Fellowship is the opportunity for just that.
The Springboard Fellowship has allowed me to learn so much about myself and about Judaism all over North America. I have moved to London from Upstate New York, which is something I never thought I would do! Talking with students with whom I connect so much in whom I see much of myself inspires me to keep creating programs and bettering this community for them. While training for the Springboard Fellowship, I was trained in Design Thinking, a new way to solve problems and think of how to develop programming and engage students.
Springboard also has a cohort all over North America that supports one another throughout everything we do. Bouncing ideas off one another, seeing what other campuses are doing, and just knowing that people are doing the same thing you are is so amazing. With monthly calls we are always further developing our learning, and seeing what new ways we can incorporate design thinking, innovation, and Jewish life into our campus. This two year fellowship has already taught me so much, and I can’t wait to see what else it brings! Apply for Springboard today!
