About the Zac Kaye Leadership Fund

Promotes the development of young Jewish leadership through the granting of merit-based scholarships. The Zac Kaye Leadership Fund was established in 2013 in honour of Zac Kaye’s retirement as Executive Director of Hillel of Greater Toronto, following eighteen years of dedicated service. The fund promotes the development of young Jewish leadership by awarding merit-based grants to students and early career professionals to attend programs that will enhance their leadership capabilities back to campus, the workplace or the community at large.

Can I Apply?

If you are a university or college aged student from any of Hillel Ontario’s campuses, or if you are a Jewish community professional in your first three years of employment  – you can apply!

Is My Program Eligible?

Since its inception, the Zac Kaye Leadership Fund has supported a wide range of leadership initiatives, both locally and abroad. These programs have included conferences, internships and fellowships, seminars, university courses, semesters abroad*, certificate programs, travel*, and any initiative proven to enhance the Jewish leadership capabilities of the applicant through the acquisition of new knowledge, education, skills, competencies and/or experiences.

Though the pandemic has vastly altered the way in which many of these types of opportunities are typically able to operate, the Zac Kaye Leadership Fund remains a resource for students and early-career professionals to amplify their leadership development for the benefit of our Jewish communities, whether virtually or in-person. Not sure if the program you’re thinking about fits the criteria? Contact jeremy.starr@hillelontario.org with any questions that you may have.
