As we celebrate Culture Week at York University, a time dedicated to the appreciation and recognition of global diversity, it is with great concern that we address the recent incidents involving the Israeli flag. In the past two days, the Israeli flag has been subjected to repeated acts of vandalism - it has been ripped, its replacement stolen, and there have been multiple attempts to remove it, even under the watchful eye of security. These actions are not just disrespectful; they represent a targeted attack on the identity of many students on our campus.
